Pipe relining

Relining in Abbotsford,
decided on evidence

A cracked or root-damaged line repaired from the inside. Where a building has reliable drawings we use them alongside the footage, which makes for a better decision than either on its own.

Drawings say where. Footage says what condition

A relining decision needs two pieces of information: where the line runs and what state it is in. Most properties can only supply the second.

The Abbotsford Cove estate is a genuine exception. It was built after the factory closed in 1991 as a master-planned scheme, designed and documented as a whole, so the drawings tend to describe what was actually installed rather than what somebody intended.

Put those together with camera footage and you get a considerably better basis for a decision than either alone: the route from the drawings, the condition from the film, and no guessing in between.

In the older detached housing the camera carries the whole weight, which is the ordinary situation and works fine. It just takes longer and answers less.

Camera first, every time.

Drawings tell us where to look. They cannot tell us what condition it is in, so the footage still decides.

When relining is the right call in Abbotsford

Two pieces of information, not one

Where the line runs, and what condition it is in. Most properties can only supply the second.

Having both makes for a decision rather than an estimate.

The estate can supply the first

Purpose-built medium density from the 1990s was documented as a whole.

That is genuinely unusual and worth using rather than ignoring on principle.

The older housing relies on footage

Which is the ordinary situation everywhere and works perfectly well.

It simply means the camera carries all of the weight rather than half.

What relining cannot do

It restores the pipe. It cannot change the gradient the pipe was laid at.

Where fall has been lost the answer is excavation and re-lay, and we say so.

Why we quote both ways

An owner or a committee should be able to compare, so both figures come together for the same defect.

Sometimes digging genuinely is right, and you should be able to see that clearly.

What pipe relining costs in Abbotsford

Quoted against footage, with drawings used where they exist. These are indicative 2026 ranges, and the excavation comparison comes with every relining quote.

01

Camera inspection and report $250 – $450

Footage handed over, with the defect marked and located.

02

Junction or short section repair $1,500 – $3,500

A defined defect repaired from inside, through existing access where possible.

03

Full run $4,000 – $9,000

Depending on length and access, with common areas staying usable.

04

Root cutting before lining $400 – $700

The line cleared so the liner cures against sound pipe.

05

Excavation comparison included

The dig price for the same defect, so the decision is genuinely yours.

How a relining job runs.

Step 01
Reviewing building drawings for a relining job in Abbotsford

Drawings if there are any

We read what already exists before charging you to reproduce it with a camera.

Step 02
Camera inspection of a drain in Abbotsford

Camera down regardless

Because drawings say where, not what condition. The footage is what decides.

Step 03
Quoting a pipe relining job in Abbotsford

Both prices, in writing

Relining against excavation for the same defect, in a form an owner or a committee can act on.

Step 04
Handing over post-relining footage in Abbotsford

Filmed again afterwards

The finished liner recorded end to end, with the footage handed over alongside the warranty.

Same drain blocking every year?

Clearing it again is not the answer. Footage, and the drawings if your building has them, will show whether a liner finishes it.

Does the estate documentation help with a relining decision?

Considerably. Drawings tell you where a line runs and what it was specified as. Footage tells you what condition it is in now. Neither answers the question alone, and having both is a much better basis for a decision than most buildings can manage. Where a building has reliable drawings we start there and film to confirm.

And if it is an older house with no records?

Then the camera does all of it, which is the ordinary situation everywhere else. It works perfectly well, it just means the footage carries the whole weight rather than half of it.

Will relining fix a drain with no fall?

No. A liner restores the pipe, it cannot change the gradient the pipe was laid at. If footage shows a length holding water because the fall has gone, that needs excavation and re-lay, and we will say which you have before quoting either.

Is relining disruptive in an apartment building?

Far less than digging. Usually one access point, frequently one that already exists, with the work happening inside the pipe. Common areas stay usable and residents stay parked, which is generally what an owners corporation is actually weighing up.

How long does a liner last?

A structural repair rather than a patch, designed in decades. We will not attach a number to a drain we have not filmed, because it depends on what is left of the host pipe.

Can every line be relined?

Most can. A run that has collapsed, or separated so far that there is no host pipe to line against, needs excavation. The camera decides, which is why we film before quoting.

What does relining cost in Abbotsford?

A camera inspection and report is $250 to $450. A junction or short section repair is $1,500 to $3,500. A full run is $4,000 to $9,000 depending on length and access. The excavation figure comes alongside so you can compare properly.
